As a virtual creator, I design immersive worlds, avatars, and interactive experiences for platforms like VRChat and Bigscreen VR. My work balances creative detail with technical precision—prioritizing performance, atmosphere, and meaningful interaction. Below are selected projects that showcase my hands-on approach to building optimized, memorable spaces or avatars tailored for social and immersive VR.

Faces of Fantasy

This was my first VRChat world, one where literature's most iconic fantasy characters come alive based on their original book descriptions. Dive into immersive exhibits featuring AI-generated portraits from the universes of Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter—all envisioned without cinematic influence. Explore interactive elements like the Iron Throne, the Ring of Power, and wield magical wands that cast enchanting particle effects. With features like a video player mirror, this world offers a unique and engaging experience for fans to connect with their favorite characters in an entirely new way.

Technical Features: Unity 2022, particle systems, baked lighting using Bakery, scripted multiplayer networking, custom audio zones, and custom Udon# scripting.

The Game of Thrones section is pictured here. Each zone features a unique audio area playing its series theme, the opening line from the first book rendered in a series-specific font, and a corresponding floor map aligned across the museum.
Every placard has a deployable scroll with each character's biography, these are also networked to read along with friends and self-hiding when the player exits a trigger zone.
The Game of Thrones section couldn't be complete without the Iron Throne.
And of course it functions as a seat!

Includes markers and a video player, with the ability for players to turn off the audio zones to play what they want throughout the world.
A VRChat world is never complete without a mirror. Enjoy fantasy music for an added layer of immersion.

Movie Island

Movie Island World offers an immersive cinematic experience set on a serene tropical island within VRChat. Featuring a grand movie screen with customizable playlists, it provides the perfect venue for shared viewing sessions. The island's ambiance is enhanced by dynamic skyboxes and ambient lighting, creating a relaxing environment for users to enjoy. With comfortable seating and high-quality surround sound, Movie Island World is designed for those seeking both entertainment and a tranquil escape in virtual reality. This world is published to Community Labs but is currently undergoing a face lift.

Technical Features: Unity 2022, particle systems, custom 5.1 Surround Sound setup, scripted multiplayer networking, custom Udon# scripts, and Udon Graph visual scripting.

The Stacks from Ready Player One

Welcome to my most ambitious VRChat world to date—a large-scale, evolving tribute to Ready Player One. Spanning seven distinct locations, this immersive environment features custom models, animations, and UdonSharp scripting. Visitors can explore hidden "extra life" coins, drive a DeLorean, or teleport between iconic areas from the film. A full-scale concert stage will serve as a dynamic venue for live events. Still in active development, the world aims to capture the spirit of VR that Ready Player One helped ignite for so many of us.

Technical Features: Unity 2022, particle systems, custom teleportation system, multiple custom models, scripted multiplayer networking, custom Udon# scripts, and Udon Graph visual scripting.

Behold, the Stacks, a dystopian shanty town. Only one trailer will be accessible, but there will be many more decoy stacks to populate the scene.
Custom portals to get to all 7 locations, modeled in the likes of the Oasis portals.
Each location on the extensive map will have a portal station silo, where a futuristic signboard animates from the ground based on player proximity, and allows them to drop a portal to any other location in the world.
Don't feel like walking or using the custom teleport system? Drive around in Parcival's DeLorean!
The Junkyard section. Complete with an underground van, similar to Parcival's gaming space.

Valentine's World 2025

An immersive, narrative-driven experience built for my partner for Valentine's Day 2025, this private VRChat world spans three fully realized environments, each capable of standing on its own.

You begin on a series of circular stone platforms, suspended high above the clouds. Each platform is connected by short stairways and surrounded by glowing sakura trees, crackling pyres, and swirling petals. At the final platform stands a mystical monolith inscribed with glowing runes. Resting at its base, a radiant book waits—clicking it begins the journey to the next world.

The second scene unfolds inside a vast, candlelit cathedral. Stained glass windows cast shifting colors across the stone floor as soft instrumental music plays. At the far end, another glowing book waits behind wrought iron gates. Reaching it triggers the central moment: a synchronized particle animation in which two luminous figures dance to a love song I personally wrote and arranged, with vocals performed by Suno AI.

The song ends, the book disappears through a mysterious gate, through which you follow, leading to the final scene: a reimagined cyberpunk apartment, originally purchased and heavily customized for the occasion. Here, the book returns—now as a physical picture book players can open and flip through, bringing the journey to a personal, interactive close. A video walkthrough of the world and animation is available on my YouTube channel.

The journey begins in a dreamlike fantasy realm, where glowing sakura trees, enchanted flames, and swirling petals guide you toward a magical book on a lectern. Northern lights shimmer overhead, snow drifts gently through the sky, and soft fantasy music sets the tone—all brought to life through layered particle systems and atmospheric effects.
The magical book, surrounded by enchanted particles, teleports you to the next scene.
The second scene is in an expansive gothic cathedral. An instrumental plays in the background and you see something in the distance.
After traversing the cathedral floor, you see the magical book on its lectern once again.
Clicking on the book triggers another explosion!
This explosion sets off the main event: an animation of two dancers to a song I wrote and used Suno AI to compose.
The particle dancers put on a choreographed show to my song. The animation was purchased, but then completely adapted and reworked by me.
After the song ends the book is pulled through this strange gate, should we follow?
The final scene is a purchased, but heavily edited world. A cozy cyberpunk-themed apartment decked out for the special day.
The magical book has made it here, how could that be?
The book turns out to be an interactable picture book, with pages that you can turn.

Avatars

As an avatar creator, I design high-quality, personalized avatars that reflect the wearer's identity while maintaining strong performance across platforms. Assembled and customized in Blender and Unity, each avatar emphasizes realism, with detailed features that enhance expressiveness and individuality. Both PC avatar versions include over 100 customization options each — from clothing toggles to material swaps—while still featuring optimized Quest-compatible fallback versions.

My Personal Avatar

Ever since stepping into virtual space, I saw it as an extension of the real world—but the first time I put on an avatar, it didn’t feel like me. So I set out to build one that did. The result is JB_Scratch, an avatar crafted largely in my likeness (with a few upgrades and embellishments of course), built entirely from the ground up. Using Blossom's Version 3 male base and a 23Mink head, I assembled and customized every part in Blender, then rigged, animated, and configured it in Unity. The avatar features over 100 toggles, including material swaps for nearly every visible item, two hyper-realistic beards with fully animated visemes and viseme parameter drivers, and a real-time in-game wristwatch. Many of the t-shirts are digital recreations of ones I own in real life, carefully replicated using Photoshop. The build also incorporates advanced toggle logic using OSC parameter extensions, texture atlasing for performance, and a Quest-compatible fallback version. One standout companion is my pet bulldog—a static model I rigged and animated myself with custom walk, sit, and lay cycles. Using Warren’s FastFur shader, I gave him an unmistakably lifelike appearance—soft fur, natural shading, and just the right amount of detail. He’s a consistent crowd favorite; I’ve had multiple people ask where he’s from, and even a few offer to buy or commission one. I haven’t seen anything quite like him in VRChat, and he brings a unique presence to the overall experience.

Another custom shirt that I own in real life.
And of course a dapper outfit option is a must have.

Bria

Bria was my first avatar built for someone else—created in close consultation with my partner to reflect her likeness, style, and fit. Built on a modified Zinpia Zinfit base with an Amelia head, this avatar includes over 100 toggles, six hairstyle options, and custom-modeled jewelry. The wardrobe is especially extensive: four tops, five bottoms, four footwear options, a bodysuit, a bikini, a dress, a hooded cape, a hat, horns, and two full body textures—one of which I created using her real tattoos. Nearly every item includes material swaps, allowing for flexible combinations and visual variety without bloating performance.

Matches my personal avatar pretty well.

Bigscreen VR Builds

Bigscreen VR has held a special place for me since the pandemic, when it became a way to bridge distance and watch anything with friends—no matter how far apart we were. Inspired by those shared experiences, I began developing custom Bigscreen environments tailored for social viewing. While only one world is currently ready for release, it’s already in active use with friends and has been rigorously optimized to meet Bigscreen’s strict technical standards. More worlds are planned as the platform resumes new creator uploads.

Movie Island

Movie Island World (Bigscreen Edition) is a fully reworked tropical cinema world built for Bigscreen VR, a social viewing app where users watch movies together in virtual theaters. Optimized for performance, the terrain was converted to mesh with a custom collider, and every asset—from vegetation to the shipwreck and tiki bar—was edited in Blender for efficiency. It features two viewing areas: a 60-seat main theater and a smaller lounge around a custom-built firepit with tiki bars and ambient ocean sounds. Hidden gems like scattered treasure and Wilsons (yes, those ones) add playful immersion. Currently used with friends, Movie Island World is ready for public release once Bigscreen reopens its world submission process.
